My name is Kalil Warren. I am a graduate student at the University of South Carolina (USC), pursuing a Master of Arts in linguistics with a concentration in psycholinguistics. In my undergraduate studies, I completed a Bachelor of Science in psychology in 2022 with a minor in linguistics at the University of South Carolina as well. My research centers around how language is processed in the mind and brain using experimental psychological methods, such as eye-tracking, brain imaging, and brain stimulation techniques. To learn more about my on-going research projects, click here. I promote open science and an epistemology that is driven to understand language in all aspects. No one method can supply a full and satisfactory understanding of language, a multi-level science is necessary to tackle our big questions. 

I also conlang! I specialize in artistic conlangs that mainly center around some fictional world-building. The main conlang that I am working on at the moment is Luminari. Luminari is a language that ChatGPT 4 and I are working on, to see the limits of current natural language models as a tool for conlanging. Click here to learn more.
